come take a walk

I signed up to step out of my comfort zone and one of the things i have wanted to do for some time is walk round the city where i live and take some photographs. Now for some people i know that’s not a problem but for me, pointing my camera at things and going click always makes me feel very self conscience. I feel like everyone is watching me, which they are not, they are normally trying to dodge out of the way of the camera lens. So here are some photographs taken by me, today.

First things First, 2nd breakfast and some Harry Potter

it's always good to look up

a bee hive

I don't know who Barry was or why he had a building named after him?

the butcher

looks good

smells good

the church in the background is about how far i live from the center of town

new city bypass. the white building on the left is the city library and the building to the right is the National Media Museum

our Theatre

the new city park and the building in the background is City Hall

pink wellingtons

Oh, how i would love to be four,

In a bright pink coat and pink wellingtons too.

So I could splash about in the City Park lake

And laugh and giggle

When it splashed me too.

Hope you enjoyed the tour. I took a lot more photographs then are displayed here but the thing is, I did it.

The perspective in the next to last picture is clever – it looks like City Hall is flooded! (I’m assuming that’s not true – the tone of your post would be different if you were having serious floods, right?)

I’ve often thought that there are things where I live worth taking pictures of – maybe your post will help give me the courage to do it!

And that food market looks wonderful.

    • No its not flooded, they wanted to pull down the old beautiful city hall to put in a city park, the inhabitants of the city complained and won and so they built the lake next to the city hall. The old with the new until they finally get to pull down the old. That may take them a while.

  2. You are an amazing photographer – when can I come and visit :-) Your first photo made me want to curl up and spend the day reading, then the rest wanted to to jump on an airplane and finally see England. Thank you!

  3. Once a week i treat myself to 2nd breakfast and i sit and read until i get bored (or too stiff these days) usually about an hour or so but no time keeping. The rest of the city is undergoing some refurbishment but they promise us a shopping center too or is that a mall :)

  4. Loved the tour and seeing some of the sights you see! Did you feel a bit more comfortable taking pictures by the end of the day? I hope so because you did some pretty fine work!

The colors, smells, views and buildings are all welcome mats for us to come and visit!

    • I came to realise that most of the time no one actually cared and those that did care just wanted to get out of the way. I’d like to do it again sometimes soon. The city is undergoing a make over and things are changing.

  5. Hello to every one, the contents present at this site are actually remarkable for people knowledge, well, keep up the nice work fellows.
