only we can open the door

Just as i was going to open my pack to show you want is inside, a piece of paper flew out. I stretched out my hand and grabbed it before it flew to the ground. There in my hand lay this crumbled scrap of paper torn from a book at sometime, at some place. As i carefully smoothed out this tiny scrap of paper i was reminded of something very important i had forgotten. It was this -

I remember now placing the scrap of paper lovingly on the top of everything so i did not forget the most important thing first, prayer. With my sieve like brain it was always possible i would have forgotten if it hadn’t have been for this piece of almost nothingness.

Many have cried out this year ‘where is God, where is his hiding place?’ Many have prayed ‘please God help me.’ Is it only in our distress that we think about calling upon God? It shouldn’t be! I know that when we practice daily prayer to God, by whatever name you may call him, that when the hard times come you will not have to wait for his arm to be extended unto you, it will already be there. You will know it, you will know it’s feel and its strength, its comfort and its love. Life is hard, God knows it, he did not leave us to stumble alone.

We should pray for ourselves. Pray that we will have the strength to continue from day to day and gratitude for all that we have been blessed with. Prayer for our family that they may know God and the power of prayer also. Thank Heavenly Father for the moments, the calls, the texts and the emails that you may receive from them not just today but every day. Don’t be like i am sometimes irritated because i have been disturbed from what i am trying to do, but be grateful. Stop what you are doing and be present, in that moment for them and for you.

Pray for your friends. Pray that you can always be there for them and they for you. That the spaces in between are insignificant in the scheme of things. Prayer for your enemies. Pray, has the scriptures say, for those that persecute you and despitefully use you. Give unto those that would take from you freely and without rancor.

Pray:-

‘Our Heavenly Father

I thank thee … (thank Him for all that you have)

I ask thee … (ask with a sincere heart and a contrite spirit for that which you desire)

In the name of Jesus Christ our Saviour. Amen.’

Pray often, do not be as the Pharisees are, to be seen of men but pray in your closet, pray in secret and when you pray in secret you will be blessed openly.

My prayer for all you this coming year is one of love and acceptance. I pray that you will accept yourself just has you are right now. I pray that you will find peace from whatever ails you. I pray that you will find forgiveness and hope.
