60 pounds

13072012183I don’t usually post on a Sunday but i needed a space to put my goal for the year, which is to lose 60lbs in weight. This morning i stood my bathroom scales and jumped off quickly. I wasn’t sure they were right so i jumped on the bathroom scales my daughter has left here (long story) and unfortunately the first scales were correct.

Also unfortunately 60lb is not all i need to lose but it is a good start. The plan is simple ‘Eat Food’ and avoid anything processed or loaded with sugar and fat, especially when they are combined in the same food, such as in chocolate.

Here’s the list (in case you have forgotten it :) )

  1. Eat food (Michael Pollen)
  2. Eat 2 vegetables and 1 fruit for lunch and dinner
  3. Eat no more than 1 portion of dried fruit a day
  4. Drink no more than 1 small glass of fruit juice a day
  5. Drink water
  6. Or Herbal tea
  7. Or milk
  8. Drink whole milk
  9. Eat yogurt 3x a week made from whole milk
  10. Eat organic whenever possible
  11. Eat a good breakfast
  12. Eat rice
  13. Eat pasta
  14. Eat Salad or vegetable soup every day
  15. Read the packets
  16. Cut out soya whenever possible
  17. Eat tomatoes, onions and garlic together often
  18. Keep food simple
  19. Eat dairy
  20. Eat fish
  21. Use honey
  22. Keep sugar to a minimum
  23. Make my own bread
  24. Eat butter
  25. Use a smaller bowl/plate and have seconds if you are still hungry
  26. Desserts are treats
  27. Keep a food diary
  28. Clean out the cupboards/fridge
  29. Keep a food storage
  30. Shop with a list
  31. Do not go down the aisles you do not need to
  32. Do not shop pop or trolley hop
  33. Do not go hungry
  34. Have a menu
  35. Eat mindfully
  36. If you must eat meat no more than a lb a week (per person)

I will try and give a brief update every week and let you know what worked and what was a disaster. First thing is to print this list out and put in on the fridge and begin a food diary.

    I have Faith in you… Believe in yourself and keep the mantra I am thin….. I am thin…. lol…
    I used to be so thin I was often named called at school which for a long time hurt as I didnt hold myself in high esteem…
    You can Do it… and we are right behind you… Good Luck.

  2. Wow .. that is a long list.
    Have you thought of doing it the other way round? Write of list at the end of each day of what fabulous things you have done / eaten / achieved over the day (usually just two or three things is sufficient to notice work well done)
    Well done you … you are on the next stage of your journey. Keep up the good work.
