A snow day

Today we had a snow day. It started like this i woke up at about 4am and after a trip to the bathroom i thought it looked very light through my curtains. So being half asleep but curious i went to pulled the curtain back just far enough to peep out. I groaned deeply and then went back to bed.

Later at about 7.30 i took these photos.

  1. There was a little story in our paper this morning saying that Heathrow Airport was closed because of snow. Come on, spring!

i 250 miles north of there, not very far by US standards i know but they have more snow than we do

      • The US is about 3000 miles coast to coast, so in that sense 250 miles isn’t much – on the other more practical hand, 250 miles is a good solid day’s drive (at least in this part of the country where roads tend to be crowded – probably you can go farther in a day out west where there are fewer people), so I think of it as pretty far.

you could at a push cross the whole of the UK in a day :)

      • When I was a child, we moved from Pennsylvania to California, right across the country, for a few years – the drive took a week. We did take a few detours to see the sights along the way, though, so I guess the trip could have been a day or so shorter.
